She was hospitalized. The illness was later confirmed as rheumatoid arthritis. His skating career with his compatriot Denis Samokhin made him famous. They competed at two separate Junior World Championships placing 8th in 1993 and 7th in 1994. She worked briefly alongside Maxim Kachanov. Later, as a team, they placed 5th at the Goodwill Games. Both were successful as a team, winning the Finlandia Trophy two times and competing at the Grand Prix of Figure Skating. They accomplished more tasks. The highlight however was their 15th place finish that they achieved during the World Championships of 1998.
